Rusted Root

Last night Rusted Root was headlining the ProjectiAm's annual Acoustics for Autism fundraiser in Perrysburgh at the The Shops at Fallen Timbers. Since 1997 it had been a goal of my wife's to dance at a Rusted Root show..despite the rain...she got her wish last night. This was my third time seeing them..the last time I saw them they opened up for and played a few songs with Santana. A truly incredible show. After a few songs the rain let up, and all the umbrella's came down and I was able to get some photographs. Hats off to one of my all time favorite live bands.

More Atlantic Beach Sunsets

I have always had a strong connection to the Ocean. I was born with a deep respect and love for the Ocean, the Salty Air, the Sand, and all the Creatures that go with it.. Growing up and living in Ohio doesn't leave much chance for me to curl my toes up in the sand that resides next to and keeps company to the Salt Water, however I do try to make visits to the coasts as often as possible. Even it's a 24 hour trip to the coast  without stopping just to swim in the Ocean before driving 12 hours back home just in time for work.
This year we made it to Atlantic Beach for a day and a half...not nearly long enough...but I take what I can. The storms had just passed so the Ocean was all rowdy...for getting tossed around like a rag doll. After my wife and I were done getting our bones jarred by big waves and getting skinned knees from being knocked on the Ocean floor a few too many times the Sun started to begin it's decent into the Earth. We cleaned up and brought out the cameras and did our best to capture through lens the performance that Nature put on for us.

Sunset on Atlantic Beach

The past month and a half as been a whirl wind of extreme business for me so you must imagine by sense of awe and relief when I found myself sinking my toes into the soft sand of a beach and my nose breathing in the warm salt air that came in off the Atlantic ocean last week. Technology is great when used properly. One minute we were on the highway headed toward Atlantic Beach from Washington, North Carolina with no place to stay when my wife pulled up a few hotels on her iPhone, looked at a few pictures, then pushed a few buttons. The next thing we know we were walking into our hotel room on the fifth floor of the Wind Jammer Hotel with our balcony looking over the ocean. Our traveling companions, my parents, were in awe that we were in such a room. I was in heaven. I changed into my trunks and hit the ocean for a few hours of well deserved body surfing with my wife. After we were done getting pummeled by the waves, I managed to change and grab my cameras for this marvel that nature put on for us.

It is mushroom season. I have been finding them all over lately. These two popped up in our front yard today.

Photo Transfer on my Mandolin

I used the same photo tranafer process that I have been experimenting with for the past week and put Think Giraffe on my mandolin. Next step is to put one onto my guitar as soon as I figure out what image to use.
