Collecting Pollen

I shot this out at Blendon last week by the Nature Center. I was hoping to get into the Butterfly House but it wasn't open. The bee landed just as I was starting to walk to my car...I had to turn around and watch him collect pollen for a little bit.

Echinacea

These were in abundance out a Blendon Woods Metro Park. One of my favorite flowers to photograph because of the intricate and large cone. You can also see that a spider of some sort was using this to help catch some food. His web is lit up by the morning sunlight.

My Creek Friend

I found a path off the main road in Blendon Woods yesterday morning while hiking that led into the creek. Unfortunately this path was highly guarded by a gang of unruly poison ivy plants. Slightly perturbed, I looked to my right and there was another path, with a much easier entrance into the creek; and no poison ivy. As soon as I got down by the creek, I was approached by this little flying friend. I followed it for awhile down the creek until it landed on some broad leaves to have his portrait taken.

Bugaboo

Japhy was gracious enough yesterday to let me take his photograph. He is a dog with many nicknames; Bugaboo being one of them. He is a tad camera shy however he doesn't seem to mind small film cameras or my Olympus Pen E-PL3, which this one was shot with.

Journey Over the Water

Last Thursday I carefully waded about waste deep into the lake with my camera. I don't have a waterproof kit for my camera so I made sure to move with caution. I was able to capture seagulls in flight as little kids would run up and chase them away. I felt bad for the birds being harassed but they were not harmed and it worked out well for me.
